Heat, Wind, and Smart Scheduling in the Sun City

El Paso climate is a real factor in how pickleball gets played here. From May through September, daytime temperatures regularly hit 100 degrees and the desert sun is unforgiving on outdoor courts. Spring winds coming down off the Franklin Mountains can also make ball control frustrating. We default to heat-smart scheduling, with most outdoor sessions landing between 7 to 9 AM or after 6 PM. When wind makes outdoor play unproductive, we coordinate indoor options at Don Haskins or other recreation centers with indoor courts. When weather forces a cancellation, we reschedule at no penalty.
